Biography

Dr. Rahul Kumar received his PhD from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, IIT Bombay in 2016. After PhD, he worked as a project engineer in the National Centre for Photovoltaic and Education (NCPRE), IIT Bombay from August, 2016 to June, 2018. After that, he was a visiting fellow in the Sustainable Materials Research & Technology (SMaRT) Centre at University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, Australia from July, 2018 to July, 2019. Then, he was a National Postdoctoral Fellow in Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi 2019-2021. Prior to joining Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, he was postdoctoral fellow in Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Delhi.

Area of Research Interests

His research interests include carbon-based materials, ceramic materials, ceramic carbon composites (CCCs), metal complexes, solar cells, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), supercapacitors (SCs), silicon-based photovoltaic (PV) modules, lithium-ion batteries (LiBs), and recycling of electronic waste (E-waste).
